Scam Website Builders

20210109-110155[1]

So you just got a call from a web design company based out of the country. Since 2018 there have been a growing number of Scammy business practices. One of them is a fake web design service. How it works is they get all your business info. Build you a great website that should be worth $800-$1200 but you’re only going to pay $500. After you make the payment and get the website launched. They will leave it live for 2-5 weeks. Make minor changes you request.

After the 2-5 weeks your website will crash or go offline. They will contact you and let you know a hacker took it down. And you will need to pay them for the time to repair and update the site another $200-$500 (depending on the current traffic) of course you would like to get your site back up and running. But the only option they provide to you is there one option they provide.

You ask for the current files and database and access to the domain registration. They refuse to give you access. So you pay. And 3-4 months go by. Again your website is offline. Now with no call or support. They’re blocking your number and junking your emails. Then 1-2 weeks go by and the domain is redirected to another business saying the domain is for sale. And it’s for sale at 5-6k, now what do you do? Nothing. They own all the info and domain. You just gave them 1-2k for 3-5 months of advertising a website. Also you now are stuck without the domain that is printed on all your merchandise and marketing materials.

Because they are out of the country there is nothing you can do to get anything back or take them to court. One of the main reasons you should never work with out of the country businesses. Only work with businesses that have a local office or one you can visit and get representation out of. Listed below are some of the domains I have found and investigated. I have not posted all their information so they do not see how I know who they are. If you would like I can also research any new business you find. Please comment on this post.

The only way to stop them is to not use them.

please to not take service from anyone below:

Here is the list of other scammers for website and domain service scams.

ghazni.me posted a comment spam telling one of my clients there site is crap and dues not work. Thats not true. There site is fine. The scam is to provide access to the site. So this looks like nothing more than a phishing scam. Unwanted solicitation in comments are not the way to communicate with any business.

visionwebcreations.com emailed me saying they can rebuild my site bluebrad.com

The funny thing is they must of not actually reviewed my site. If they did they would of noticed i also am a web designer.

You never should transfer the ownership of the domain. Godaddy allows you Delegated access. Delegated access, prevents the transfer of the domain and website services. only allows the PRO member to make changes.
i do wish all the other domain Managers would work on Delegated Access for all there services.
