How is this a scam? Well, most rules about storing other people’s items should be a red flag. There have been stories of people storing stolen goods, drugs, fireworks, and other illegal and dangerous goods in storage units. The first thing is, you do not and will not know what will be stored, and if you open or request to know, you’re breaking the TOS. Using someone to store your items in their home is also a risk that is too high. There have been stories of squatters offering to store cars and items in their garage, and then suddenly they’re gone.
Don’t fall for this scam. Do not use Neighbor.com its too risky and is loaded with scammers.
Terrible experience.
December 5th, 2021 - First, I had was scammed by someone trying to rent me a parking spot that didn't belong to them. Neighbor charged me anyway. They are very hard to get in contact with and when I finally reached them, they said they would investigate it. A month later, they haven't even contacted me. I still needed a parking spot, so I rented a different one this time making sure it was real. It was a good place but when the month was up, we ended the rental agreement but Neighbor still charged me anyway.
October 6th, 2022 - My host Robert Ward forced me to give him keys and used my card for several months. Added 2000 miles on it and unlimited toll tickets. He blocked me. And app will not take any responsibility. Ronald is still host on Neighbor.com even after i filed a complaint. There are other hosts like Robert, actively scamming people. Robert is verified host and told app that he never drive vehicle even though he had they keys. App took his side. But i am sure court will make right decision.
October 20th, 2022 - Rented a storage space and the person was basically holding our stuff hostage saying the app never paid him. Insane!
